What does 'release' really mean?


In Chapter 19, you finally discovered the true meaning of the term "release." What was your reaction when you finally found out what "release" meant? Use your 'Adjectives' handout to help you use 3 descriptive words in completing this assignment. Describe your feelings as best you can.

  1. It was scary because you say your father kill a kid and said “bye-bye.” And it bad because your father go to sleep and do not think what he did. I think that is crazy because they do not cape the baby they can be brother.

  2. When I found out what release meant I felt angry because they had kill an innocent newborn baby. Secondly, I felt disturbed by the procedure of release, which is done by an injection. Lastly, I felt horrible that they kill them like that. They should let them die peacefully.

  5. e word release really means that you were killed, murdered. I felt bad because someone life was takes just over weight problems. I also felt horrible because a here a little newborn baby that does know what’s going to happen to him. I also felt surprise because I did know that he would kill an intersect bad that didn’t have a chance to make a mistake.

  9. I felt hurt because the father killed the newborn. I was surprised that he killed the baby because it was did not weigh enough. It was wrong to kill an innocent baby.

  10. The meaning of released in the book giver means "killed". I think its sad how they released people and don't know better.
